A workshop with Yoga Teacher Joanna Bertzeletos and Massage & Bodywork therapist Eva Weltermann.
In yoga circles it is said that the health of our back is a reflection of our overall health. When our back feels healthy and happy we too are filled with energy, vitality and happiness, on the other hand when we are experiencing back pain or discomfort we usually have a low mood, may even be depressed and lack energy.
In this workshop we will be looking at how to maintain a healthy back and also how to manage a particular back sensitivity or problem with the use of a great variety of yoga and self massage practices. We will explore easy anatomy with the use of visual aids, how to engage core stability muscles, discuss what is correct alignment and the importance of using various yoga breathing, relaxation, meditation and massage practices to maintain optimum health of the back.
This workshop is suitable for people who are experiencing non-specific or non-diagnosed back sensitivities, for people who have got a particular back issue for example a prolapsed disc, sciatica, osteoporosis and so on, or for people who have none of the above but wish to learn about preventative measures.
Jo has been helping people care for their back since 2009 and in 2011 specialised even further in this field by undertaking an 18 month study of the back with the Dru Yoga School. Eva of Therapy Room Sheffield is a highly trained and well respected massage therapist and tutor who offers therapeutic, deep tissue and sports massage, specialising in trigger points, MLD & myofascial release.
